TROUBLE AT PEDRO CASTLE

Rescue Mission Goes Wrong When the Ocean Starts Growing Barnacle-Covered Zombies

A peaceful lunch at Pedro Castle turns into a rescue dive when a mysterious woman jumps off the cliff. Grogg saves her. The Adeptus Ridiculous hauls them both up. The Secretary gets drunk. And then things get weird.

The Setup: Hurricane season has emptied the island. The Adeptus Ridiculous and Grogg enjoy lunch at the historic Pedro Castle clifftop restaurant. Spectacular views. Great food. Peaceful.

Then a woman dives off the 160-foot cliff.

The Rescue: Grogg, being Grogg, yells “KAWABUNGA!” and jumps after her. The Adeptus Ridiculous, being the Adeptus, sighs and prepares to haul them both up with his mechadendrites (mechanical tentacles). They save her life.

The Secretary, being the Secretary, claims he can drive them all home (he cannot and should not).

The Mystery Woman: - Mid-twenties, mixed heritage - Unconscious but breathing oddly - Skin unnaturally luminous - No barnacles (unlike literally everything else in this story) - Not what she seems

Meanwhile, In the Bushes: Something wrong is emerging from the ocean. Something with barnacles. Something that: - Snatches a feral chicken - Leaves barnacle-crusted tracks - Controls other animals - Is getting closer to shore

And Also: - Steeve gets released from Ponciana (the asylum from the earlier story) - He’s been “deemed stable” (he’s not) - He’s heading back to The Toof & Tonic (oh no) - Nurse Borden watches him leave with deep concern (justified)

Why This Story: Trouble at Pedro Castle is the Rogues’ Gallery doing mystery-horror: - New character introduction (the mystery woman joins the found family) - Caribbean folklore meets cosmic horror (something’s wrong with the ocean) - Action-adventure opening (the cliff dive rescue is genuinely thrilling) - Building dread (those barnacles mean something BAD) - Lighter tone (described as “a palate cleanser” after the darker stories) - Interconnected universe (Steeve’s return connects to Ponciana and The Toof & Tonic)

Perfect For: - Mystery fans who like their investigations weird - Readers who want more of the found family dynamic - Anyone curious about what happens when the ocean starts acting wrong - People who enjoyed An Ork Walks Into a Bar and want more of that energy - Fans wondering “wait, what happened to Steeve?”

What’s Coming: The barnacle-covered things in the water aren’t going away. The mystery woman has secrets. And Steeve’s return to The Toof & Tonic probably won’t end well.
